Under the spell of traveling again
To see how I am all that remains
Always in the process
Of pain mistaking progress

I drove alongside California skylines
Moving on before there was time to think twice
The stopping points I would find
Moving so fast, I could only question what was mine

And if I ever came up with an answer
Then it was the painful pieces of
Everything ever asked of me

Up to the mountains through the Cascade Range
Coming down in the hours through the plains
No other places between could show me anything
But they’re passing too fast to be seen

I miss the solid ground of a hometown
I can study to no end to find out
Its progress inside I needed to move
