I stare out the window
Don’t know what I’m looking for
Maybe for an answer
Just can’t make it out the door
Thinking about what happened last night
In a room full of strangers

What the hell happened
I don’t understand it
I leave it alone
And you leave me stranded
Promised I’d never tell you a lie
So I keep looking through veiled eyes

When I make it outside
Circle your place to check for the lights
It’s as dark as the bar I travel to next
So, I drown my sorrows away
As I try to explain
to the man I sat next to

Fast forward through the playbook
To know what to do
My journal reads the same mistakes
Every page is as dark as the next
