Ever since I was in school
I could be found staring at the wall
Instead of a book
For as long as I can recall
I’ve been the boy who’d rather be somewhere else
Instead of a room

That’s not to say that I don’t think
In fact, some say I think too much
I much prefer the pictures in my mind
To the ones in my eyes

I’m a daydreamer
24 hours a day

Ever since I was a boy
I’ve had my head in the clouds
Feet on the ground
Everyday I go to work
Making money for someone else
Like a jail cell

That’s not to say that I don’t drink
In fact, some say I drink too much
I much prefer this reality
To the one in my eyes

I feel like such an alien
To all of those that dream at night
