She came out here from Kansas to check out the local scene
She got a job as a freelance writer for a music magazine
Now she gets all the latest releases before they’re even in the store
And she’s on the guest list at all the clubs, so they wave her right through the door

I met her down at the Kendall Cafe, we talked about our favorite bands
By the time we got to Commander Cody the two of us were holding hands
And it wasn’t long before she gave me much more than a flattering quote
