Sound Decision

In the company of anything more than her thoughts
She'd deny any memory lingers
While in a rented hole he still wakes on dampened sheets

Burns her confidence into cinders

Arguments we've fought all taste so sour on the lips

Yet anything that's practical is worse

A coin lies forgotten at the bottom of a well
Too lost in the darkness to glisten
One side was always far too busy to see
The other just too tired to listen
He drinks from a bottle to replenish his heart
She barters pieces of her soul
Forgetting that though coins, indeed, have two sides
In the end they're just halves of a whole
