My Way

I have long been here
Skeptical of what's been proven wrong
Spent my hopes and cares
Left with packages of broken songs
Yet I know my path
Bloody, dirty, fresh with fallen glee
So, as the future flows
I will have my way with me tonight

You trod on unknown shores
A step away from what you fear to feel
Aware of who may call
Or better yet, who could complete the wheel
Inside the tattered cage
A progress report writes itself to blank
I could say all is lost
But then, I've never been one to be frank
And still the alarm bells have rung their hearts into a silence deep
I stand, my lies in hand
To sow away all I may one day reap
Your spit, your bitterness
It's hard to tell which keeps me warmer now
As chills of apprehension bite all those its master will allow

Stop asking me how
For this once
We will learn together

Phoenixes shall turn away
Their burning forms have naught to say
For boredom of percipitation's
Left them frightened easily
Lose your jawbone at the sight
Don't look to me
I know I'm right
But amongst all this irritation
I will have my way with me
Until the ruined bleed like land
Until the sky no longer stands
And mothers of invention
Throw their hands to heaven stubbornly
Tell me that I've lost my wits
I wish to hear no more of it
For despite this, your forced pretention
I shall have my way with me tonight

Take the road to lonely
Ride amongst the fast and free
And specialize in chastity
One ticket only
I cannot afford the train
For I've already spent my pain
Leave behind any blame
It all makes your life too rough
Me, I never touch the stuff
It shall be your name
I will still forever cry
Each and every time I die

As you wave your hand in air
I wonder if you're even there
Or need I just a warring soul
To prove I am in control
A purpose come sailing through
