Instruments that were gathering here
Have shifted by a couple of degrees
She was my beloved creation
I served her with every ounce of my soul
She blessed me with success, I'm indebted to her
But now comes a fork in the road

And a pale half moon hangs overhead
As if halfway to all or nothing should count for something
And my half empty glass of courage asks
Between debt and departure which way are you going

Be careful how long you stay planted
Cause those old roots don't die overnight
