I’m lowered into the ground
Returning to ashes and dirt
In the casket’s confines
Oblivion bound
Consumed by the earth

Life-like
Flowers adorn mourner’s hands
A funeral procession in bloom
An ironic parade
Life eternal interred,
Immortality’s doom

The shadows in my path
Reflect mortal truths

Tainted
Death on my mind since day one
Tomorrow all shrouded in gloom
With fear I remain
Smothering darkness
Invading my room

The world is a tomb

Nearing our time with every breath

We all look like death

Shades of death an abhorrent motif
