I look to the cross where You Lord Jesus, You bore my shame
Lord I often avert my eyes and cling to what feels familiar
It brings my self esteem down
Though I've been redeemed it always seems so hard for me...

...to fill my heart with love & to draw my self worth from You Father above
To take up my cross each and every day while letting go of yesterday

Father forgive me. Those words I said were not my own
They came from a different man a lifetime ago
Help me to let go of those past transgressions.
They haunt my memory
I want to be free. Please help me

I breath out holding You in
Whispering words are falling softly within me
I scream out that I am forgiven and this condemnation is just in my mind

“Therefore there is no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus the Lord”
Help me believe it. Help me to feel Your loving Spirit inside me
You've sealed me until the day of salvation
Holy Spirit come. Because I don't wake up anymore
and think about the things that I could never change
And I don't want to hold onto this pain
because I am forgiven and I must move on
