i found her lying there,
totally content on dying
i picked her up and carried her in,
i hung her wings by the door.

her eyes were fixed on mine,
her lips dry from crying,
i laid her down and watched her,
her back was scared from her wings depart.

she would die to be alive in me

small freckles drew a map.
she clenched her hand over mine,
she knew her wings were now mine.
