Richard Morel - The Letter
I found a letter
Addressed to Jesus
It said its tuff - when you coming back
to see us?
And if you could just hold us for an hour
and for a moment I could feel the power
All those crazy Christians way down South
Scream about while they say they hate me
I bummed a dollar to pay the postage
The U.S. mail is only slightly less then hopeless
The adress worn - The hand writing was gritty
It seems that Jesus is a guy in New York City
So when the house falls down
And the well dries up
Hold me close and believe in me
Tell me that I'm that tuff
Cause we ain't going nowhere tonight
Nowhere's all right
We ain't going nowhere
I found the letter - floating down the river
Address wrong I gues the postman can't deliver
The water cold- washing me down
I'm just small fish living in a small town
But for a moment I thought that maybe my voice was going somewhere
Addressed to Jesus
It said its tuff - when you coming back
to see us?
And if you could just hold us for an hour
and for a moment I could feel the power
All those crazy Christians way down South
Scream about while they say they hate me
I bummed a dollar to pay the postage
The U.S. mail is only slightly less then hopeless
The adress worn - The hand writing was gritty
It seems that Jesus is a guy in New York City
So when the house falls down
And the well dries up
Hold me close and believe in me
Tell me that I'm that tuff
Cause we ain't going nowhere tonight
Nowhere's all right
We ain't going nowhere
I found the letter - floating down the river
Address wrong I gues the postman can't deliver
The water cold- washing me down
I'm just small fish living in a small town
But for a moment I thought that maybe my voice was going somewhere
